2008 O. Henry Pun-Off World Championships

Last weekend, I competed for the 3rd time in the O. Henry Pun-Off World Championships. There are 2 events in the competition. In the Punniest of Show, contests perform a 90 second monologue on a topic of their choice. They are ranked on a scale of 1-10 by 4 judges.
The Punslingers event is a tournament style format that pits 2 contestants against eachother. A category is revealed, and the first contestant has 5 seconds to think of a pun. Then the next contestant has five seconds. Puns alternate back and forth until one contestant comes up empty. There are 30 contestants in each event, and last year, I was lucky enough to place 2nd in both events.
Here’s my entry for this year’s Punniest of Show. I got 39 out of a possible 40 points making me the new World Champion! (stay tuned next week for my Punslingers video)

YEAH!!!! Congrats! Nice work! I think this is the point of the comment where I try to make a joke/pun/whathaveya, but now that I’m commenting on the World Champion’s v-blog, all I can (and should say is) “five up top!” Very nicely done!
